“I love looking for the hidden objects that appear from the randomness of the paint. I love how the process of art brings beauty to the chaos of life.” Kari Zeplin was raised by artsy parents and experimented with other media before developing the technique that produces these abstract, fluid, acrylic paintings. Influenced by the car paint overspray rocks, known as Motor Agate, that her father brought home from the Pontiac factory and opened up to expose layer upon layer of colors and patterns, Kari set out to reproduce that look on canvas.
Kari pours the stresses of life and her emotions, both good and bad into every painting and she loves to share them with others because of the healing they bring to her…and the viewer. She believes that, just like eating healthy, organic food to nourish our body, we all benefit from surrounding ourselves with authentic art that arises from the passion of the human heart and finds expression in color and texture. Art keeps both the artist and the patron sane!
